The deployment of Large Language Model Artificial Intelligence (LLM AI) presents an opportunity to understand the connection between ‘training data’, processing, and output. Chat GPT’s output is very much dependent on the training data that was input into the system.
Now, Cornel West, labeled an “American Philosopher” by the English version of Aljazeera, was provided a half-hour of airtime to engage in a diatribe on the ongoing situation in Israel.
West’s verbal output is certainly loquacious, and his message is cogent, however, he has fallen victim to the ideology of the authors of his books that flank him in his interview (his inputs). In his interview, he repeats the mantra ‘Every life has equal value’. At one time, this was the motto of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which seems to have disappeared since the divorce and re-structure. I posted about this concept during the pandemic here. West’s brain has a processing divergence related to his self-awareness.
Human beings organize into groups, tribes, and eventually nations in order to enable personal survival and a certain way of life (values). West’s perspective is absolutely irrelevant to the practical situation between the Israelis and the Palestinians. The Israelis are going to annex the Gaza strip and eventually, the West Bank. A real humanitarian would be trying to negotiate the best deal for the Palestinians in the lands of a neighboring country.
